Ian Taylor and Rajiv Vadgama have been promoted to partner at RSM. Vadgama becomes a tax partner in the firm’s private client practice in London. He joined RSM in 2011, after almost 15 years in two of the Big Four firms. In his new role, he will focus on growing the business among high net worth individuals, predominantly non-UK domiciles. Taylor becomes an audit partner and will be based at the firm’s office in Liverpool. He joined RSM in 2015, prior to which he held roles at Land Securities Group PLC and DEXUS Property Group. He has over 10 years’ audit experience working in the mid-tier specialising in providing audit, assurance and financial reporting services with particular expertise advising organisations in the real estate sector.
Stuart Morton and Lewis Ratcliffe have been promoted to senior managers and Gary Bugdale to director at Price Bailey. Morton joined the firm in 2015 from a top 10 firm and has helped to establish the Price Bailey Norwich insolvency and recovery team. Ratcliffe joined the firm’s Bishop Stortford office in 2012 and became a manager in 2015. He holds a large portfolio of clients including sole traders and owner managed companies, working closely with a number of property managers and managing agents. Bugdale joined Price Bailey 19 years ago from university. He has helped to facilitate the successful development of the Norwich office through periods of change and rapid growth.
KPMG International has appointed Blair Nimmo as global head of insolvency, succeeding Richard Heis who retired from the firm earlier in the year. Nimmo joined KPMG in 1991 after training with Cooper and Lybrand’s restructuring practice. He has become a trusted advisor to stressed and distressed businesses focusing on solvent turnarounds or insolvent solutions across a wide range of sectors including energy and natural resources, infrastructure and manufacturing, real estate, leisure, as well as football and sporting clubs. In March 2016, he was appointed head of KPMG’s restructuring practice in the UK, a role which he will continue to hold alongside his new global post.
Chris Hopwood, an accountant at Bradford-based Watson Buckle, has passed his final ACA case study exam with the ICAEW. He is part of Watson Buckle’s rapidly-expanding cloud accounting team, helping to support clients with the latest online accounting solutions.
The International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) has appointed Chiew Chun Wee, ACCA’s regional head of policy for Asia Pacific, as a member of the board. He will serve an initial three-year term starting from 1 January 2018.
