Post implementation review of IFRS 9 open for comment

The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) has issued a consultation as part of the three-part post-implementation review of the classification and measurement requirements in IFRS 9 Financial Instruments

The consultation, the second in a series of three of discrete aspects of the standard, seeks information on the classification and measurement requirements in IFRS 9 and related disclosures, calling for feedback on obstacles to transparent reporting and any complexities raised when applying the standard, which was first implemented in 2018.

The IASB is keen to understand the effects of the classification and measurement changes introduced by IFRS 9, including the ongoing costs and benefits in preparing, auditing, enforcing and using information about financial instruments.
