PwC merges consulting and risk divisions in major overhaul

Changing market for consulting and risk, coupled with client demand for quicker response times and more integrated services, sees PwC merge service lines in biggest restructure for years

Under the plans, due to take effect from 1 July, PwC UK will merge the risk and consulting practices, naming Jonathan House, current UK head of consulting, partner and member of the UK management board as head of the new service line. The UK merger is part of a major global reorganisation of the firm which sees the risk practices around the world brought into consulting.

Folding risk into the consulting division means current head of risk for the UK, Claire Reid, will move to a new role as chief technology and innovation officer for the Big Four firm, retaining her position on the PwC executive board.
