Reform plans could see audit fees rise by 35%

The planned overhaul of the audit market is likely to increase audit fees for listed companies by up to 35% reveals an impact assessment by the government

The proposals are still under review by the Department for Business (BEIS) with auditors awaiting final details and draft legislation, which was mentioned in the Queen’s Speech in May this year.

The government has published an impact assessment on the effect of the proposed audit reforms, indicating that audit fees are likely to rise significantly as a result.
