Sherish Yasmin, 32, ran and owned Manny Steakhouse in Manchester in the run-up to the pandemic, once the bounce back loan scheme was announced she applied for two loans for the full amount.

The first loan was applied for in May 2020, with the second loan application being made just one month later.

The rules of the scheme stated just one loan of a maximum of £50,000 was allowed. 

Yasmin went on to spend over £12,000 of the loan, which came from taxpayers’ money, on jewellery.

Additionally, she went on to liquidate the company after not completing any of her company accounts.
