Rights to leave for working parents of seriously ill children

The rights of working parents have changed in recent years, with reforms to qualifying service for parental and paternity leave, and to when and how paternity leave can be taken, as well as the introduction of carer’s leave, and neonatal care leave for parents of seriously ill newborns.

Now, the government is looking at further changes to the law that will bring in greater rights and entitlements for unpaid carers and working parents of seriously ill children, but before the rules change here are the key issues employers need to know.
