Scotland to benefit from net-zero economy

According to PwC's Green Jobs Barometer, Scotland is the best place in the UK to benefit economically from the shift towards a net-zero economy

Announced today, PwC’s Green Jobs Barometer, which is the first of its kind, is a digital analysis that tracks movements in green job creation, job losses, the carbon intensity of employment, and worker sentiment across regions and sectors in the UK.

PwC states that 1.65% of advertised jobs in the Scottish employment market are related to the net-zero transformation which is higher than any other part of the UK. PwC said that the reason for this is due to Scotland’s strong presence of energy and utility roles, in particular renewable energy.

Scotland was also found to lead the UK in green job creation within agricultural and the professional services sectors.
