Scottish R&D tax relief firm expands south

Scottish-based research and development (R&D) tax relief specialist Jumpstart has formed an alliance with Taylorcocks in a bid to expand its presence in London and the South East

Brian Williamson, Jumpstart managing director said: ‘Taylorcocks is a trusted and respected firm of chartered accountants and chartered tax advisers. We share a similar ethos of providing the highest quality solutions to meet the needs of our clients and we are confident that this new, strong and positive partnership will bring benefits across the board.’

Williamson said the partnership marks an important milestone for Jumpstart, which has successfully recovered £17.7m for its Scottish customers, and is in line with its strategic expansion into the rest of the UK.

Jumpstart, which provides advice on R&D tax relief claims, will be introduced to Taylorcocks' clients as an added value service. It will deal with existing as well as future claims across the firm’s nine offices in the region.

Ian Cocks, Taylorcocks managing director, said: ‘HMRC is tightening its enquiry of R&D tax claims. Now more than ever, clients need to have experts at their side to make sure the claims are solid, compliant and bring high returns. R&D tax relief is a complicated process for non-technologists to get absolutely right.’
