Kinbrook described the deal as a ‘strategic combination’, building on the group’s mantra of ‘Local roots. National strength. One team’ as it aims to build a UK-wide group of firms across the country.
Old Mill and sister firm Brook Financial will be the group’s anchor in the south west of the country, serving clients from its five offices, although both firms will retain their own names as Kinbrook remains hands off from an external perspective.
The move follows a shake-up of the board at Old Mill in July 2024, which saw the creation of a new leadership structure headed up by CEO Mark Neath, and the firm’s first managing director Jolyon Stonehouse.
Old Mill’s 350 staff will all stay with the business, while it gives Kinbrook five new office locations in Exeter, Yeovil, Wells, Chippenham, and Ilminster, expanding the reach of the national group to a total of 24 offices and over 1,000 staff under its overarching network.
