This acquisition marks a significant milestone for Scrutton Bland as part of its wider growth strategy, strengthening its presence in the East of England. It follows the firm’s decision to join private equity backed Sumer Group in April 2024.

Jacobs Allen has three directors, Keith Senior, Sheila Burke and Chris Kelly, and 12 staff, who will all remain with the business. It has been a prominent name in Suffolk since 1993 and will continue to operate out its offices in Bury St Edmunds alongside the Scrutton Bland offices just outside of the town.

The firm will be rebranded as Scrutton Bland and this will be a gradual process that will be completed over the next six months.
