When the UK officially left the EU on 31 December 2020, much uncertainty remained as to how British nationals purchasing and owning properties in France would be affected.

Almost two years on, how has the situation played out and have any initial concerns about the impact of Brexit materialised?

The purchase process has remained very much the same for British nationals since Brexit.

Following an initial pause in activity, as people waited to see whether there would be any restrictions on ownership introduced, the market is back on track with many British nationals forging ahead with their French ownership or relocation plans.
