As the reality of finance transformation
starts to bite, Ian Sadler and Andy Quayle look at making the tax
team more effective.
Like all the best TV makeover programmes, we watch closely as
a world-weary individual is transformed into a confident, go-getting
extrovert in the space of sixty minutes of reality viewing. For our
stereotypical tax professional, the parallel journey from being a
highly competent tax technician, with a strong focus on legislative
issues and forthcoming internal and external deadlines, to a tax consultant
well versed in the trials and tribulations of transformational change,
may need to be even more dramatic. It will certainly be more time-consuming.
