Digital tax accounts set to capture interest income

The introduction of digital tax accounts is set to remove the requirement for self assessment forms once the system is rolled out to all individual taxpayers with plans for consultation with stakeholders and tax advisers slated for this spring.

The new tax year, 2015-16, will see the first use of the online tax accounts. Currently 10.2m self assessment forms are submitted a year.
