HMRC launches full blown MTD VAT trial

HMRC has launched the Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT full pilot which will be open to 600,000 businesses from 1 November 2018, although trusts and charities will remain excluded for the time being.

The pilot, which has been available as a limited trial since April 2018 for companies nominated by tax agents ahead of the rollout from 1 April 2019, is now open to sole traders and those who submit quarterly VAT returns for a limited company.
