Research from music licensing company PPL PRS found that 27% of accountancy firms in the UK are working in silence but could benefit from introducing music to their offices.

The 72% of accountancy firms that do have music in the office found a reduction in stress levels from 45% of staff. As well as a 43% boost to the ‘general mood in the workplace’, there was also a 32% increase in productivity.

In terms of genre, most firms (60%) admitted to sticking to pop music but from those that did not strictly play pop music, they branched out to RnB, chill-out and classical music.
