Almost three months from the beginning of the trial, Diezani Alison Madueke the former Nigerian minister for petroleum in the early 2010s, categorically denied charges of accepting bribes and conspiracy to commit bribery.

The argument from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) centred around the accusation that Madueke accepted millions of pounds in bribes, with trips to Harrods, stays in luxury London apartments, flights in private chartered jets, and private school fees for her child.

Appearing at Southwark Crown Court, Madueke was cross examined by CPS prosecutor Alexandra Healy KC over these alleged bribes.
