Xeinadin hikes revenue in £30m acquisition drive

Investment from private equity firm Exponent has financed a string of acquisitions at top 20 firm Xeinadin. Derry Crowley, head of the firm talks to Sara White about the challenges of growing so fast

Since May 2022, Xeinadin has acquired 16 practices in a focused growth programme with the aim of breaking into the top 10 accountancy firms. Before the acquisition drive, the group reported fee income of £97m for year end 2022 and will release its 2023 results in January 2024.

Derry Crowley, CEO at Xeinadin, said: ‘We secured the Exponent investment in May 2022 and after that really began our acquisition programme – we have acquired 16 practices since then with total fee income of £30m. We have seen a 30% growth in revenue in just 18 months.

‘Acquisition is a very exciting area – we are seeing more and more opportunities. The sweet spot for us is four or five partners. We’re 18 months into our M&A plan and it is going to be so much stronger over the next two years. We see the last 18 months as building the platform to be able to deliver for firms that join the group.
