Young accountants drinking too much

One in five accountants aged under 30 said that their drinking habits have negatively impacted their work or personal life

Across the UK one in four (25%) accountants said they regularly drank alcohol to lift their mood, and almost two thirds (60%) said they often exceeded the daily recommended intake for alcohol, found a survey by accountants’ charity caba.

On top of this, around 9% of accountants of all ages said they exceeded the recommended daily intake.

One in five accountants admitted to drinking so much that they were unable to remember the evening before. This was most prevalent within the under-30 age group, with 15% saying they experienced alcohol-related blackouts at least once a month.
