Accountancy firms have limited presence online

Three quarters of small to medium sized accountancy firms are virtually invisible on search engines, either only appearing in the top 10 results or not at all

This means they are losing out on valuable business leads, and are failing to take advantage of digital platforms to promote their businesses.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects 65% of the world’s GDP to be digitised by the end of 2022, underlining the importance of improving the presence of firms online.

The accountancy profession has been slow to adjust to digital marketing, according to research commissioned by Verbatim, which found that one in three accountancy firms had websites which were virtually invisible in search results, severely limiting their ability to be found by customers.
