AQF debate highlights dangers of short termism and lack of diversity

Short-termism is still a problem for British business, affecting board decisions and hampering log-term planning and growth, while boards still lack diversity at the highest levels, according to panellists at the Audit Quality Forum’s 10th anniversary debate at Mansion House

Gathered to celebrate ten years of the AQF, the event kicked off with keynote speeches by business minister Vince Cable and City of London mayor, Alan Yarrow.

The centrepiece of the event was two panel sessions focusing on the topic, Can business ever get it right? As expected from the audience, the majority of gathered business leaders, regulators and accounting professionals strongly believe that business can get it right, provided attention is focused on transparency, innovation and diversity.
