Are your employment contracts legally compliant?

When hiring new employees or promoting staff it is essential to ensure employment contracts are provided and meet all the latest legal requirements, explains Stacie Cheadle, Croner-i CIPD HR-inform

On 6 April 2025, it will be five years since changes were made to the legal requirements for what needs to be included in contracts of employment under the Good Work Plan.

I have been talking to a new client, and it turns out they have been using the same contract for new starters for at least the last six years. This is likely to be out of date, and we need to ensure that the contract is not missing critical information and what issues that would pose.

From 6 April 2020, the Good Work Plan, which was designed to take forward many of the recommendations in the Taylor Review of Modern Working Practices, came into force.
