Peter Jones, star of BBC TV show Dragon's Den, has bought the collapsed High Street camera retailing brand Jessops.
The High Street chain's administrator PwC confirmed the sale late on Thursday.
Rob Hunt, a partner at PwC, said: 'We can confirm that we have sold the brand and certain other assets to a number of buyers including entrepreneur Peter Jones CBE.'
Just two days after PwC's appointment on 9 January, it was announced that 1,370 jobs would be axed.
Restructuring outfit Hilco - which bought the debt of struggling music and DVD retailer HMV from the group's lenders, Lloyds and Royal Bank of Scotland- were also rumoured to be interested in buying the Jessops brand.
Within days of Jessops closing, HMV and then Blockbuster also announced their collapse.
Jessops narrowly avoided falling into administration in 2009 when it secured a deal with its largest shareholder, HSBC.
