AIM listed Image Scan Holdings plc, a specialist supplier of X-ray screening systems to the security and industrial inspection markets, has appointed BDO LLP as auditor for the 2016 financial year, following the resignation of Wilkins Kennedy
Mid-tier audit firm BDO is replacing incumbent Wilkins Kennedy LLP, which has handled the £23,000 audit for over a decade since being appointed in 2005.
In the 2015 annual report, Image Scan stated that ‘the auditors, Wilkins Kennedy LLP, will be proposed for re-appointment at the forthcoming annual general meeting’ but subsequently decided to put the audit out to tender.
The company said the appointment of BDO as auditor provides Image Scan with local support from one of the country's leading AIM auditors at a similar cost. The East Midland team of BDO offers a wider range of skills and expertise which Image Scan can draw upon as the company seeks to grow and expand.
The board extended its ‘appreciation and gratitude to the outgoing auditor Wilkins Kennedy LLP for its services rendered to the company for the past years’.
In accordance with section 519 of the Companies Act 2006, Wilkins Kennedy LLP has deposited a statement with the company confirming that there are no circumstances in connection with its resignation as auditor that should be drawn to the attention of the company's shareholders.
Total Image Scan sales for 2015 were £1.7m (2014: £2.2m) and the business made a pre-tax loss of £640,000 (2014: £523,000).
