Company director banned for 18 years

A Sunderland director has been banned for an extra 11 years after reappointing himself as a director whilst serving an initial seven-year disqualification

Derek Milligan, 40, from Sunderland was given the disqualification by Newcastle County Court on 14 September with the ban being effective from 5 October 2021. With the further 11 years added onto his disqualification, Milligan will have been collectively banned for 18 years.

The new disqualification order prevents Derek Milligan from directly or indirectly becoming involved in the promotion, formation, or management of a company without the permission of the court.

Milligan was the sole director of DMNE Limited, which was incorporated in 2011, and Dockyard Sunderland, which was incorporated in 2014, when the Insolvency Service had begun an investigation into his activities with DMNE.
