Cooper Parry to sell £180m accountancy group

Private equity backed Cooper Parry has hired investment banking group Houlihan Lokey to advise on the sale of the fast growing accounting firm

The disruptive accounting group has grown rapidly since securing investment from Waterland Private Equity in December 2022 and now has projected revenue of £180m for the current financial year, with ambitions to grow the business to £250m by 2025.

Waterland is also a major stakeholder in mid-tier accounting firm, Moore Kingston Smith following a private equity deal signed off last March. The whole accountancy market is going through significant upheaval with dozens of private equity firms eyeing up the potential, with Grant Thornton the largest firm looking for finalise a PE deal.
