Duchy of Cornwall finance chief to face PAC

The finance team of the Duchy of Cornwall has been called up before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to justify the annual accounts.

The Duchy of Cornwall's top finance team will be asked to justify the tax status of the £763m hereditary estate of the Prince of Wales.

Those in the firing line of PAC include William Nye, principal private secretary to the Royal Highnesses the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, Keith Willis, finance director of the Duchy and Paula Diggle, Treasury officer of accounts at HM Treasury. Prince Charles has not been called as a witness.

The hearing will be held on Monday 15 July at 3.15 in Room 15, Palace of Westminster and will be broadcast on Parliament TV.
