Increased NICs thresholds

Regulations have been published setting the 2009/10 national insurance contributions earnings limits and thresholds (2008/09 figures given here in brackets). The Class 1 lower earnings limit will be £95 (£90), the upper earnings limit will be £844 (£770) and the primary and secondary thresholds will be £110 (£105). Because the contributions system has its roots in weekly cash pay and stamps on cards, these are weekly limits.
