Former Big Four partner Jeff Soar launches private equity backed tax advisory firm, WTS UK, saying ‘old rules no longer apply’ after more than 20 years at EY
With private equity backing from EQT, the new UK firm will focus on tax advisory work and has been set up by CEO and founding partner Jeff Soar, and is the UK arm of the wider WTS, a European group of firms.
Soar said the UK firm will be a ‘partner-led, conflict-free and tech-enabled tax advisory firm’, adding ‘too many advisers today are feeling bogged down in bureaucracy. We will show what’s possible when a firm is built for today’.
It has ambitious plans to challenge the Big Four on tax advisory work, stressing it will not be conflicted by current audit oriented model and will be able to operate in a much more agile way removed from the constraints of large firm structures and bureaucracy.
