A failed theatre production company which collapsed just before Christmas, ending plans for a nationwide tour of a musical starring celebrity tenor Russell Watson as the voice of God, could owe creditors as much as £2.6m, liquidators from Quantuma report

Production company Eden International Productions Ltd hit financial difficulties while the show ‘Heaven on Earth’ was at the rehearsal stage. The musical was scheduled to kick off a nationwide tour from 4-7 December 2017 at the NEC Arena near Birmingham before embarking on a series of dates that included all major UK cities, concluding with four nights at the SSE Arena at Wembley in May 2018.

Chris Newell, a partner in corporate recovery and business advisory firm Quantuma, who is handling the liquidation, stressed the unsecured creditor claims had not yet been verified or agreed.

‘The company has now been formally placed into liquidation and we have received unsecured creditor claims of circa £2.6m. These claims have not yet been agreed and no verification has as yet been undertaken by the liquidators to agree these figures,’ he said.

However, Newell is still keen to hear from potential business angels who might wish to invest in the potential production.

‘We continue to liaise with various different parties, and would be keen for the show to be resurrected in some form in the future,’ he said.

‘Heaven on Earth’ is based on the story of Adam and Eve with Russell Watson as the voice of God. It was written by Sara Jeffs and directed and choreographed by Racky Plews. The cast had been in rehearsals for nine weeks.
