FCA bans adviser after 'understating' income in tax returns

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has banned an independent financial adviser and mortgage intermediary from performing any regulated activity in the financial services industry

Anthony George was given the final notice from the FCA on 24 September 2021 which withdrew the approval given to George to perform senior management functions such as executive director, compliance oversight, and money laundering reporting at his company 4Life Financial Planning Limited.

It also made an order prohibiting George from performing any function in relation to any regulated activities carried on by an authorised person, exempt person, or exempt professional firm.

George was the sole director of London advice firm 4Life Financial Planning and failed to declare his personal income in his self assessment tax returns over five consecutive tax years, from 2013-14 to 2017-18.
