Finance Mole: office politics beats election hustings

With less than a week until the election, Finance Mole is keeping his head down, avoiding irritating political insights by focusing on the Christmas raffle

To say election fever has hit the office would be an overstatement. The Mole wisely attempts to avoid political discussion for two reasons.

Firstly I have a Brother In Law who is a special needs teacher by day but morphs into a member of 90s agit pop stars Chumbawamba after a few drinks and rants about how ‘they are all (insert expletive)’, which is a bit tedious and makes me think – well, it’s a bit more complicated than that.

Conversely, I have another friend who is pleasant while sharing a train beer on a Friday, but at the mention of politics goes into a detailed, forensic examination of government housing policy which is his area of expertise.
