Craig Rees, 52, originally from Warwick, fled the country in 2024 during a tax fraud trial involving himself and his brother Carl Rees.

The trial revolved around the pair making fraudulent film tax relief and VAT claims to HMRC worth £1m.

After more than two years on the run, he has now been jailed for seven years and six months at Birmingham Crown Court.

During the original trial, Craig fled the country leaving only his brother in the dock.

In March 2024, both were sentenced to seven years each after being found guilty of two counts of conspiracy to cheat the public revenue at Birmingham Crown Court.
