The Independent Game Developers Association (TIGA) has issued a manifesto setting out a list of tax priorities for the games developers, asking the government to improve the tax environment to maximise the potential of a global industry worth $190bn (£XXXm).

The sector currently employs 25,000 people but with additional tax credits 2,600 new jobs could be created in an industry which is already contributing £3.7bn to UK GDP. TIGA has set out a 10-point manifesto setting out key tax proposals, backed by a cross-party group of MPs.

Conservative MP Justin Tomlinson said: ‘The UK video games industry is an economic success story, contributing almost £3.7bn to GDP and supporting thousands of highly skilled jobs across the UK.
