Growth falters at 0.1% as JLR cyberattack weighs heavy

Growth slows to glacial 0.1% as cyberattack at Jaguar Land Rover cratered manufacturing figures

Monthly GDP is estimated to have fallen by 0.1% with services the only sector recording any positivity, following no growth in August 2025 after growth was revised down after the initial figures, and a fall of 0.1% in July 2025.

The largest negative contribution came from a massive fall of 13.8% in transport manufacturing sector. There was a fall of 28.6% in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, which made a negative contribution of 1.88% to the fall in manufacturing and 0.17% to the fall in GDP in September 2025.
