Head of Deloitte UK to move to top EMEA job at firm

Deloitte to set up a brand new regional firm covering Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to be headed up by Richard Houston, who is stepping down as UK CEO, triggering a vote for a new senior partner

Following a vote by partners at 16 member firms, including the UK in favour of the restructure, Deloitte is going ahead with plans to launch an over-arching EMEA firm, sitting above 16 individual firms in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and set to be operational from 1 June.

The move will create an overarching entity with multimillion pound budget for investment in technology, including in generative AI, to respond faster to technological disruption and strengthen cross-border collaboration across the Big Four firm.
