Latest tech deal sees HMRC sign £175m AI agreement with Quantexa to modernise data mountain and identify tax fraud using decision intelligence platform

UK software company Quantexa wins £175m contract for data, intelligence and AI transformation system for HMRC to improve fraud prevention work and address legacy data silos

This is a 10-year deal to implement Quantexa’s Decision Intelligence Platform which addresses data silos ‘by unifying fragmented data into a trusted, governed foundation for advanced analytics and the safe deployment of AI at scale to enable augmented and automated decision-making’.

The new platform will connect data governed by AI to identify potential tax fraud by leveraging huge volumes of data. Quantexa said this will allow HMRC to ‘accelerate smarter decisions’ in a bid to address the £45bn plus tax gap, and to ‘drive efficiency across key workflows’.
