IASB publishes proposed IFRS changes

An exposure draft of proposed amendments to 11 International Financial Reporting Standards has been published by the International Accounting Standards Board for public review. Clarification on the measurement of non-controlling interests in IFRS 3 Business Combinations to changes with the wording to better explain the meaning of IFRS and to remove unintended inconsistencies, come within the range of proposals published. The amendments will be implemented come 1 January 2011 or just after. However, entities will be allowed to adopt them earlier. The proposed effective date for amendments to IFRS 3 and the consequential amendments to the transition requirements of IAS 27 Consolidated and Separate Financial Statements will be 1 July 2010.
