ICAEW CPD regulations: big changes ahead

Lizzie Morris ACA explains the key things you need to know about the new ICAEW Continuing Professional Development (CPD) regulations, and what you can do now to prepare

ICAEW has released further details of their new CPD regulations, which take effect from 1 November 2023.

The changes to continuing professional development (CPD) are being introduced ultimately to help improve the quality of accounting and auditing through compliance. More tangible evidence of CPD will be required, which can be more closely and regularly monitored. The changes also bring the ICAEW’s policy more in line with other professional bodies that require a minimum number of hours for CPD.
