ICAEW requires 40 hours of CPD

Accountants will need to change their learning from November when ICAEW introduces mandatory CPD of up to 40 hours a year and compulsory ethics training

ICAEW’s revised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Regulations bring in new CPD requirements from 1 November 2023, including a minimum number of hours depending on the type of work being carried out by the accountant, up to 40 hours for anyone working in practice for listed companies and 30 hours for those working with smaller firms.

There will also be much tougher requirements with double the number of CPD hours for accountants working in business and industry, now facing 40 hours of CPD a year.
