Internal auditors need to stop fraud

The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors has issued a warning to businesses to be extra vigilant to the risk of fraud, urging business leaders to prioritise action to strengthen their defences

The call to action is being supported by a new report, Fraud is on the rise: step up to the challenge, published in partnership with AuditBoard.

The report highlights how fraud risk was first exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic but is now being further heightened by the war in Ukraine and the cost of living crisis.

Fraudsters are taking advantage of the situation using ever more sophisticated tools to commit their crimes.
