Regulatory bodies worldwide have a shared challenge – how to ensure the balance between short-term and long-term objectives. In the short term, and understandably, regulators have recently been focusing on measures around the Covid-19 pandemic.

The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) is no different and in the early days of the pandemic published additional education materials on how to deal with the resulting shocks in the expected credit loss model during these exceptional times.
