Jenner joined Fuller Jenks Beecroft & Co as a school leaver in 1964 as a trainee, and climbed the firm’s ranks over a 16-year spell as it grew steadily through mergers, eventually becoming Touche Ross, now Deloitte.

He qualified with the firm and held roles including acting financial controller for its London office and national head of quality control.

He joined ICAEW in 1981 as director of the institute’s practice advisory service, where he served for eight years before joining PFK as director of practice planning in 1989.

After a six year stay, Jenner left to found Kato Consulting alongside Phil Shohet, with whom he would work for nearly 20 years providing strategic, management, marketing, fee acquisition and merger advisory services to UK accountancy practices. The firm merged with Foulger Underwood in 2014 and Jenner subsequently retired following the completion of the deal.

Jenner was a widely respected voice in the profession. He was a regular author and commentator in the professional press and frequent speaker at conferences and seminars for firms and professional bodies.
