The Chancellor’s Budget speech focused on a number of key areas which were heavily trailed in the days leading up to the announcement. One prominent theme was the UK’s continual struggle to match the productivity of similar economies across the world, supported by gloomy projections for an uptick in performance in the medium term.

A number of measures announced to get more people into work and to spur a rise in wage growth in the UK, including investment in our infrastructure such as rail, roads, science and innovation.
