KPMG is to move its City based office operation from Salisbury Square to Canary Wharf as the lease on the former building is due to expire in 2015.
The new office will be based at 30 North Colonnade in Canary Wharf and the firm will occupy 200,000sqft across the top eight floors of the building, which is owned in a joint venture by Fimalac and Hearst Corporation.
KPMG will not pull out of the City completely but will retain a presence in the area when it takes a lease on a conference and meeting facility for clients. Details are not yet available.
Jim Marsh, COO at KPMG, said: 'The decision to relocate our City office to 30 North Colonnade offers KPMG a unique opportunity to accommodate all of our London partners and staff in one central location, enabling enhanced collaboration opportunities which will ensure KPMG continues to provide the best service for our clients.
'This is in addition to providing a top quality working environment for our staff in a location which has proved successful for KPMG following the relocation from various offices within the City in 2010.'
KPMG confirmed that 1,100 staff will be relocating from Salisbury Square to the new office location in 2015, to work alongside the 5,000 staff who are already based next door at 15 Canada Square.
