In this module we look at the legislation that applies to limited liability partnerships (LLPs), how the LLP SORP influences the financial statements of an LLP, current inconsistencies between the Companies Act 2006 and the LLP Regulations where size criteria is concerned and what to apply where there is a conflict between the SORP and an accounting standard or legislative requirement.
By completing this module you will be able to:
- describe the legislation that applies to LLPs;
- describe how the LLP SORP influences the financial statements of an LLP;
- identify current inconsistencies between the Companies Act 2006 and the LLP Regulations where size criteria is concerned; and
- know what to apply where there is a conflict between the SORP and an accounting standard or legislative requirement.
The course lecturer is Steve Collings, FMAAT FCCA, audit and technical partner at Leavitt Walmsley Associates Ltd where he trained and qualified. Collings became a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) in 2001 and qualified as a chartered certified accountant in 2005. In 2010, he became a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
