Mazars has completed its acquisition of Deloitte's local public sector internal audit business with the transfer of 104 staff with experience in the local government and health sectors to its internal audit business, which is now called Mazars Public Sector Internal Audit Ltd.
Major clients of the new business include London borough councils and other local authorities and NHS organisations in the South and East of England.
Gareth Davies, Mazars' head of public services said: 'We're really proud to welcome a dedicated team with extensive and valuable experience. We also look forward to working with our new clients, building on the high standards of client service and technical quality they are used to.'
The new team members are predominantly based at client sites throughout the South East, but a small number will transfer to Mazars' offices in London, Sutton and Bristol. The acquisition of the Deloitte business sees the firm move up from sixth to fourth place among the top four firms providing internal audit services to the sector.
