Top ten firm Moore Stephens has expanded its reach into data services with it consulting arm, Moore Stephens Consulting (MSC), acquiring the data warehousing division of Atticus Associates

Atticus Associates is a specialist technology company that provides data monitoring services to London and global insurers. In computing, a data warehouse is a system used for reporting and data analysis. They store current and historical data in one place that are used for creating analytical reports.

Moore Stephens Consulting was set up in 2002 and focussed primarily on data analysis and business intelligence solutions. In 2005 the business then expanded to include services on mobility, internet solutions and application development. The business focuses on two sectors: insurance and the public sector.

David Sweet, partner at Moore Stephens Consulting, said: ‘This represents a strategic investment for MSC, as we look to further consolidate our position as the market leader in the provision of data warehousing and business intelligence solutions to the London insurance market.

‘The intellectual property that we have acquired provides a strong fit with our own insurance framework solution and extends the breadth of our market offering, demonstrating our continued commitment to this area of our business.’

Nick Mair, CEO of Atticus Associates, said: ‘MSC provided an excellent home for our data warehousing collateral, offering significant scale and experience in this space. This deal suits our current direction and aligns with our organisation’s growing DQPro software focus.

‘Looking to the future we see significant ongoing collaborative opportunities for MSC and Atticus, leveraging our respective technology propositions.’
