Seven people have been arrested from around the country in connection with the theft of more than £1m from a woman from Scotland
Police have stated that six men and one woman have been arrested in connection with an investigation of fraudulent activity involving an elderly woman from South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The one woman who was arrested was 34, the males ages vary broadly. Starting with two in their twenties, three in their thirties and a 50-year-old.
Five are supposed to be appearing in Airdie Sheriff Court today while the two younger suspects are to appear at a later date.
The suspects were arrested from various locations across the southeast of the country including, Eastbourne, Stansted, Dagenham and East Ham.
The sum of money was supposedly stolen this year between May and August.
The investigation continues.
