A free web resource aimed at keeping accountants on the straight and narrow path as they navigate through the murky world of finance, has been launched by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT).
Following a spate of stories this year concerning questionable practices of banks and dubious tax positions of huge multinationals, the AAT Ethics microsite has been set up to provide access to podcasts, videos, factsheets and work-related moral scenarios for students, members and the general public.
Tania Hayes, head of conduct and compliance at AAT said: 'Poor ethical conduct has made national headlines with public trust in financial reporting being heavily dented in recent months.
'In finance and accountancy, ethics and professionalism have to sit at the heart of each and every business decision. This microsite is dedicated to improve standards across the board helping finance professionals with their CPD and restoring public trust in financial accounting across all businesses and organisations.'
The resources available for free on the microsite can be accessed at AAT.
