Osborne looking for ideas for Budget 2014

The government is seeking 'original and innovative' ideas for inclusion in this year's Budget and is urging business, charities and members of the public to submit their suggestions by 14 February 2014 so they can be given 'proper consideration' by the Treasury.

The move is described by the Treasury as part of the government's commitment to 'open and transparent policy-making', and it says it will look at all the proposals put forward for possible inclusion in the Budget, which will take place on 19 March 2014.

Interested parties should submit their views via email to [email protected].

In its guidance on submission, the Treasury says any representation should contain policy suggestions and explain the policy rationale, costs, benefits and deliverability of proposals. It should also be evidence-based, providing clear arguments on how it contributes to the aims of the Budget.
